Having obtained a B.A. degree in English & History and initially working for the Civil Service, she changed direction, working as an accountant in both industry and practice, whilst studying for her accountancy qualification.

She joined Purnells in January 2000 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant with the ACCA, later that year.

During her early years with Purnells, she went on to study for the Joint Insolvency Examination Board's exams (JIEB) to obtain the professional qualification to enable her to become a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, qualifying as such following the 2004 exam sitting.

Leigh is experienced in all aspects of both personal and corporate insolvency and takes formal insolvency appointments in Voluntary Arrangements, Liquidations and Administrations.
